The Conference
Two Days of Spiritual Renewal
October 23-24, 2026
“In the future, when your son asks you, ‘What does this mean?’ say to him, ‘By the strength of his hand the LORD brought us out of Egypt, out of the place of slavery.’”
-Exodus 13:14
When God redeemed Israel out of slavery in Egypt he did so by “the strength of his hand.” His demonstration of power in saving Israel was more than a one-off. By rescuing Israel in such dramatic fashion, God was ensuring that he would get the glory as they experienced the blessing of redemption.
It is no mistake that this remarkable part of the Old Testament is often referred to in the New Testament. Understanding the Exodus helps us understand what God is doing when he redeems sinners by faith in Jesus Christ.
Seeing God’s glory in redemption helps us to value him above all else, and to be confident that he will finish his work. As Pastor John Newton argued this gives us practical help by strengthening our faith and hope, “When he thus begins, he will make an end; and such persons, however feeble, poor, and worthless, in their own apprehensions, if they have obtained a glimpse of the Redeemer’s glory, as he is made unto us, of God, wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption, so that his name is precious, and the desire of their hearts is towards him, have good reason to hope and believe.” Join us this year as we behold the glory of God in redemption.
